Butter Braised Smoked Green Beans

Grilled vegetables are great, but smoked green beans are even better with a kiss of hardwood smoke. These smoky green beans go right alongside your smoked meats.

Ingredients

  • 4 Lamb Shanks
  • 1 tbs Salt
  • 1 tbs Pepper
  • 2 tbs Cooking Oil
  • 1 Large Onion – coarsely chopped
  • 1 Large Carrot – cut into thick slices
  • 4 Garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cup of broth
  • 1 1/2 cup of wine

Instructions

                                                                                            • Step 1: Preheat your Z Grills pellet smoker to 275°F.
                                                                                              • Step 2: Pour the melted butter over the beans. Using tongs, gently toss the beans with the butter until well coated.
                                                                                              • Step 3: Season the beans evenly, and liberally, with salt and pepper.
                                                                                              • Step 4: Add the beans to the smoker, and smoke for 3-4 hours, tossing them every 30 minutes- or until tender shriveled, and slightly browned in places.
