Topping

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 6-8 pineapple rings
  • 6-8 maraschino cherries

Cake Batter

  • 1 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Prep topping

Melt butter in skillet. Stir in brown sugar and bourbon. Arrange pineapple rings and cherries.

Step 2: Mix batter

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients. Alternate adding dry mix and milk.

Step 3: Pour batter

Pour batter over topping in skillet.

Step 4: Smoke on grill

Preheat Z Grills to 350°F. Smoke skillet for 45 minutes.

Step 5: Flip and serve

Invert onto plate. Cool slightly. Slice and serve warm.
