FAQS
Know more about our 600D3E (L600E) pellet grill with these Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Q What is the difference between 600D3E (L600E) and L600D?
The differences are in the color and the lid material.
Choosing between them is not just a matter of color preference. Our 600D3E (L600E) is built with a stainless steel lid. The L600D has a high-temperature, powder-coat steel lid. Stainless steel lids and powder-coat steel lids are commonly seen on pellet grills and they each have their advantages.
The stainless steel material boasts excellent heat retention, corrosion resistance, rust resistance, and durability. There is no paint to fade, flake, or fail. While the heavy-duty steel lid features a powder-coat finish to resist high temperatures. It cleans easily to maintain a vibrant, new appearance.
For most grillers, grills with a high-temperature, powder-coat steel lid are sufficient to stand heavy daily use. But if you would like to have a more high-end version and expect your grill to perform best in cold weather, you won't go wrong with the 600D3E (L600E).
Q Can I sear on a Z Grills?
Yes, you can. Searing occurs in the area of meat that touches the hot grate where the temperature is between 350-500 °F. So it’s easy to achieve a perfect sear with Z Grills (temperature range between 180-450 °F).
For searing meat over an open flame, the Z Grills 600 series provides a direct flame mode that reaches a high searing temperature of up to 750 °F.
Q Does everything put on a Z Grills get that rich smoky flavor?
Cook all your favorite recipes on the Z Grills, because everything that can be cooked, will taste better cooked with a savory, smoky flavor. Smoke will be visible in cycles at temperatures of less than 250°F, infusing rich smoky flavor to your food. Above this temperature the fire will burn hotter and cleaner with less smoke.
Q How long does it take to assemble a Z Grills pellet grill?
Z Grills pellet grills are easy to assemble with all the tools supplied. All you need is open space and about 30-60 minutes on your hand.
Q How does your return policy work?

Zgrill
Really love my zgrill! I had a traeger and decided to buy a new pellet stove . The Zgrill kept its temperature better and lit very fast! So far I am very pleased!!!

Good and not so good
First time user of smoker of any type, did a bunch or research and found this product to be ideal for OUR needs as we have a large flat grille and gas BBQ already. Purchased in April 2022 600D3E, Patio Plus in CA. I waited until I had an opportunity to use the smoker on several different meats/veggies to provide any review. First package and building. The packing was great, and easy to figure out what was what. The building process was fairly simple, a couple of things that stand out are the hopper door won't sit flat and installing the wire between hopper and grille instruction is not very clear. The lid does not seem like it fits the top properly, an awful lot of smoke escapes from the lid sides vs stack, almost like the bend is off. For most part went together easy, recommend 2 people for hopper install. After build and burn in: It fired right up and did everything the initial lighting steps said it would do. I am disappointed that the door Magnant holders are plastic and will not hold doors closed. Who actually thought plastic retained clips where a good idea under a smoker? Still an issue 6 weeks in and it drives me nuts. Actual use of it and results: I chose ribs as the first attempt. Actually, had a rather great result for what I thought may be a throw away. Without dragging this out I have smoked over six weeks of having this, Chicken wings, Pork tenderloin, Brisket, Beer can Chicken, Potatoes, Pork Butt and salmon. Using friends to help with their personal take on how to smoke, the results have been pretty good. So yes, it works. Also note you can just put dial on smoke only and pre-smoke meat before turning up heat. The biggest issue for me is the controller unit and heat fluctuation have been way more than the +/- stated in manual and thankfully I caught it and was able to adjust my cooking time accordingly. I bought a temp gauge for inside the rack, and it consistently shows +/- 45 to 60 degrees higher than controller. ( being clear, live in AZ, the searing vent is closed and the weather has been favorable meaning lows in 60's overnight and light breeze on some ) At this point I may need to contact and see if there is a solution for this issue. I really want to love the product and recommend people to give it a look but right now it's just a like and I wouldn't recommend. For the price it's decent, certainly not the Camary or Accord of smokers. Happy to provide update if anything changes.

Smokey and hot!
My boyfriend and I just bought our first home and got this new grill to go with it. We are in the pnw and even in the 45 degree weather this bbq works like a champ we have smoked salmon and chicken and grilled chicken. All our food has been amazing we are super happy with it. Would recommend.

A Perfect Smokin
I am a 79-year-old licensed Master Plumer and a licensed Civil Engineer. After much research I purchased you 600D3E pellet grill. A few things about putting it together: 1. Your packaging is impeccable. Obviously, computer generated as there was not one cubic centimeter of open space in the entire package. 2. Your use of stiffened angle cardboard strengthened the perimeter negating any delivery mishandling. 3. Most of the pieces had numbers on them (helpful) but others such as the right side shelf and the top to the hopper did not, leaving it up to the customer to “figure-it-out”. That adds time to building the product. 4. Although the platform (53) has a number an arrow depicting the front of the frame would be helpful to aid in determining where to install the locking wheels. 5. The magnetic Phillips screwdriver was very helpful at times. 6. The deep well Phillips screws made it easy to tighten the screws. 7. The grease drain pan bottom support (19) should have an arrow showing the top. 8. On page 20 of the instructions, item 1 under “Subsequent Startup”, the term “Heat Baffle” is used for the first time. I believe it is referring to the “Firepot Assembly” (12) as shown in the component list. It would be helpful if the parts noted had their respective part number listed. 9. On page 20 of the instructions, item 1 under “Subsequent Startup” item 3 states to plug [add the word IN] the power cord and turn on the grill. Then it says that pellets should fall into the Firepot. When I turn the smoker on nothing happens as the selector knob in in the shutdown position. In order for the auger to start dropping pellets I must turn the selector knob to smoke. Then about 10 minutes later the pile of pellets may be piled up to the igniter. I fond that if I manually pile some pellets up under the igniter to its underside, then replace item 12 the firepot assembly (better term would be to separate it calling and numbering it as the “baffle”) and then turn the selector knob to smoke that the burning process starts much faster without any danger of getting injured from hot surfaces. 10. Removing the baffle (12) is not obvious and some may feel that they need to unscrew item 9 in order to remove it. A brief instruction such as: a. Lift the baffle up from the ash pot slipping it behind item 9 and slowly slipping it toward the front sliding it free and removing it exposing the burned ash for cleaning. 11. Item 13, the burner box assembly was not numbered. I really like this pellet grill and chose it for the closed compartment under the grill and the side shelf which many others do not have. My first attempt was to smoke a pork **** and it was awesome. Thank you Tim Sullivan

First Pellet Grill
I really enjoy the Flame Elite. I did a chuck roast (brisket style) on my third cook and the temps was spot on.
