Most current Z Grills models come with porcelain-coated steel wire grates rather than stainless steel. These grates retain heat extremely well, produce excellent grill marks, and offer a non-stick surface when properly seasoned.
To maintain porcelain-coated grates: brush clean after every cook and apply a light coat of cooking oil after deep cleaning. Do not use wire brushes aggressively, as they may chip the porcelain coating. Avoid dropping or applying heavy pressure to prevent damage to the coating.
