Skipping this step can leave a chemical taste on your first cook and may cause excess smoke issues later.
Burn-in heats the grill to burn off food-safe protective coatings on the interior metal. Always perform the burn-in outside, away from doors and windows.

Tip: Be sure to carefully read the warning label on the back of the lid.

Before setting up the app, complete the burn-in process using the physical controller. Once you’ve confirmed the grill is running normally, follow the app installation guide included in the box to connect your grill.
No firmware update is required before first use. Your grill ships with the latest software installed. If a future update is available, the app will notify you automatically — simply follow the on-screen prompts.
