How to Clean the Grease Drip Pan

The drip pan collects grease and food drippings during every meal. Keeping it clean helps prevent flare-ups and protects your grill.

Before each cook, line the drip pan with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Fold and secure the foil edges to keep it from shifting. After cooking, simply remove and discard the foil for nearly maintenance-free cleaning.

Make sure the foil lies flat and isn’t wrapped too tightly, as this can block airflow and disrupt proper combustion. Remove the foil promptly after use, and do not leave it inside the grill for extended periods.

If the Pan Is Already Greasy

Remove the drip pan from the grill (let it cool fully first).

Scrape off excess grease with a plastic scraper.

Wash with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge.

Dry completely before returning to the grill.

Apply a thin coat of cooking oil (vegetable or canola) to prevent rust.

Line it with foil for the next cook.

⚠️ Never use a water hose inside the grill barrel. Water can damage the controller, wiring, and electrical components.
💡 A heavily grease-soaked pan is a fire hazard. If you notice excess grease pooling in or around the pan during cooking, it is a sign it needs to be cleaned immediately after the grill has cooled.
