1. Cleaning the Chimney Cap
When: Every 3–5 cooks, or whenever you notice grease buildup.
How:
Remove the chimney cap.
Wipe inside surfaces with a paper towel or rag.
For stubborn grease, use a mild degreaser or warm soapy water.
Dry completely before reinstalling.
2. Inspecting the Connection Gasket
When: Every few months, or if you see oil dripping from the joint.
How:
Look at the gasket where the chimney meets the grill body.
If it looks flattened, cracked, or has gaps — replace it.
Install a new heat-resistant gasket and reattach the chimney.
Prevention Tips
Clean the chimney cap after cooking fatty foods like brisket, pork shoulder, or ribs.
Avoid harsh metal tools that could scratch the inside of the cap.
Replace the gasket at the first sign of wear to prevent long-term oil leakage.
