If the temperature rises very quickly or suddenly jumps to a high level, the temperature sensor may be the cause. This can often result in a High Temperature Error (HER) being displayed on the screen. After ruling out any issues with the grill grate flames, the temperature probe may be faulty.
If the temperature gradually keeps climbing up to and beyond the maximum temperature setting of 550–580℉, the auger may be running continuously, delivering wood pellets into the fire pot. Eventually, the HER error may appear on the screen. This situation could be caused by a delay in the ignition of the pellets, leading to a large accumulation of pellets. Once combustion occurs, the concentrated release of heat causes the temperature to rise rapidly, triggering the HER alarm. To resolve this, you can open the stove cover for 1–3 minutes, set the knob to "Shut Down," and then adjust it back to the temperature setting to automatically clear the HER alarm.
