Monkey Bread
- 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough
- 4 slices thick-cut bacon
- 2 medium apples
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1½ tbsp milk or heavy cream
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Mix sugar & cinnamon
Mix together sugar and cinnamon.
Step 2: Coat dough balls
Take biscuit dough, cut them into quarters, and roll each piece into a ball.Toss the dough balls into the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
Step 3: Slice apples
Slice two apples thinly.
Step 4:Layer ingredients
Melt half a stick of butter and mix with brown sugar, then pour into the bottom of the bundt pan.Layer the coated dough balls and sliced apples into the bundt pan.
Step 5:Smoke bake
Pour the remaining stick of butter on top.Smoke in a pellet grill at 350° until golden brown and bubbly.
Step 6:Make glaze
While baking, make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, a little heavy cream, and a few splashes of vanilla.
Step 7:Flip & drizzle
Remove the monkey bread from the pan and flip it upside down onto a plate.Drizzle with the glaze.Top with crumbled bacon.
