FAQS
Know more about our 700D3 pellet grill with these Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Q What is the difference between 700D3 and 700D4E (700D3)?
The differences are in the color and the lid material.
Choosing between them is not just a matter of color preference. Our 700D4E is built with a stainless steel lid and the 700D3 has a high-temperature, powder-coat steel lid. Stainless steel lids and powder-coat steel lids are commonly seen on pellet grills and they each have their own advantages.
The stainless steel material boasts excellent heat retention, corrosion resistance, rust resistance, and durability with no paint to fade, flake, or fail. While the heavy-duty steel lid features a powder-coat finish to resist high temperatures. It cleans easily to maintain a vibrant, new appearance.
For most grillers, grills with a high-temperature, powder-coat steel lid are sufficient to stand heavy daily use. But if you would like to have a more high-end version and expect your grill to offer maximum temperature consistency in cold weather, the 700D4E is your best choice.
Q Can I sear on a Z Grills?
Yes, you can. Searing occurs in the area of meat that touches the hot grate where the temperature is between 350-500 °F. So it’s easy to achieve a perfect sear with Z Grills (Temperature range typically within 180-450 °F).
For searing meat over an open flame, Z Grills 600 series of pellet grills provide a direct flame mode that reaches a high searing temperature of up to 750 °F.
Q Does everything put on a Z Grills get that rich smoky flavor?
Cook all your favorite recipes on the Z Grills, because everything that can be cooked, will taste better cooked with a savory, smoky flavor. Smoke will be visible in cycles at temperatures of less than 250 °F, infusing rich smoky flavor to your food. Above this temperature the fire will burn hotter and cleaner with less smoke.
Q How long does it take to assemble a Z Grills pellet grill?
Z Grills pellet grills are easy to assemble with all the tools supplied. All you need is open space and about 30-60 minutes on your hand.
Q How does your return policy work?
We're confident you'll love our grills, but if you have any problems, we are here for you. Call us at 1-833-947-4557 and email us at support@zgrills.com, and then we’ll make it right for you. A whole new world!
I love my new 700D3!. I have used older charcoal/ wood smokers in the past, but this is my first pellet. So instead of having to continually "feed the beast",I can relax and trust that the temp will stay constant and true. And it is much quieter than I anticipated. I am hooked and happy!!

700D4E
I have only used the grill twice so far. The pork butt and the beef jerky came out perfect!

Baby Back Ribs
After watching all the videos I could find, i went whole hog on baby back pork ribs using the 3-2-1 method ans apple pellets. I was very happy with the results! Added more smoke using a smoker tube also for the first time during the last half of the first three hours. Ribs fell off the bone and smoke ring and flavor were perfect. Even slow heat was more comfortable than my charcoal/wood burning smoker previously. Happy with my ZGrill and first outing, for sure!

Absolutely loving my first pellet grill
This is the first pellet grill I've ever had. Overall seems of very good build quality. Nothing to complain about. I've cooked 3 racks of ribs and tri tip (separately), in the first week I've had it. Both came out amazing and I'm really excited to have this. The 700D3 gets up to temp very quickly - and seems to maintain temp. very well. The two temp sensors are awesome... really love those. As an engineer who likes to be exact, it's really nice to have them. Of course an instant read thermometer is probably just fine too, but it's nice to not have to lift the lid. Not sure what else to say other than I am very happy with this model and grill; I would highly recommend and Z GRILLS has a new loyal fan.
