Biography
Jon “Stew” Stewart is the founder and pitmaster of Stew’s BBQ, a brand dedicated to authentic wood-fired flavor and community. An active-duty U.S. Air Force member, husband, and father of four, Stew discovered his love for BBQ in 2020 while stationed in England. Now based in Anchorage, Alaska, he continues to share his passion through catering, signature rubs and sauces, and creative collaborations with Z Grills.
STORY
What started as a backyard experiment in England has become a journey that connects family, service, and flavor. While stationed at RAF Alconbury, Stew began smoking meats for friends — driven by a desire to recreate the taste of home. That spark quickly turned into Stew’s BBQ, a brand built on authenticity, hard work, and heart. From Alaska to the lower 48, Stew’s BBQ has grown into a trusted name for handcrafted rubs, sauces, and catering. Through every cook, Stew celebrates the power of BBQ to bring people together — honoring his military roots, his family, and the shared joy of grilling with Z Grills.
